This is a bit cliche, but keep writing, no matter how many rejects, or hard it becomes. I sold my first short story to a well known anthology in May of 1994. I didn't sell again until this year (2014). I'm very glad I hadn't given up, and because I haven't, I have my debut novel having its worldwide release on November, 14, 2014.

I currently have two works in progress. One is an urban fantasy starring a kick-ass female time cop, and the other is another paranormal romance about a spin-off character from Walking Through Fire. I can't say more about the spin-off or I'd have to put a big "spoiler alert" on this post. :)

Usually I think of some clever scene that makes me smile, or gets my adrenalin pumping and I just have to get it down on paper.

I never really remember my dreams, but on this occasion, it was so vivid and weird, that I did. I dreamt of a man chained to the wall of a sea cave as the tide was coming in. I had no idea why I dreamt it. However, being very curious, I built up a story around the man who eventually became, Simon MacKay.
