Ed Halliday The door creaked making my insides churn as I prised it open just a crack, enough to see the gnarled hand tightly gripping the handle of a suitcase. That was three days ago, and my wife tells me her mother will be here until the end of the month!
Ed Halliday I would have to go to the world of the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Who could pass up the opportunity to sample real Vogon poetry.
Ed Halliday In actual fact two of my books are based on events in my own life. Both 'Burnt toast and Bent Noses' and also 'The Almost Perfect Plot' .
Ed Halliday It depends how you define 'couple'. My favourite pair of characters, who are in many sense a couple, are Lenny and George in the Steinbeck story 'Of Mice and Men' which is one of my all time favourite pieces of literature. Their immense loyalty and ability to care for each other is truly inspirational.
Ed Halliday What's that? I have more books in my head waiting to get out than I have time to write!
Ed Halliday You can say whatever you want and no-one can stop you as long as you call it fiction!
Ed Halliday Just do it ! Don't procrastinate. If it's no good abandon it, but the more you try the easier and better the writing becomes. And get a good editor. Happy to pass on details of mine if needed, she'd great, experienced, and not expensive!
One more thing, don't show anyone your work until you are happy with it, nothing worse than a harsh comment to kill a work in progress.
Ed Halliday Currently working on a black comedy thriller / whodunit. A bit of a modern day spoof of the Agatha Christie type stories. This is set in the quaint English village of Wobberley Bottom, which I also intend as the setting for a couple of other ideas I have in mind
Ed Halliday Almost anything inspires me, from a one line throw away comment by a stranger to a story on the news.
Ed Halliday My most recently written book is 'The Almost Perfect Plot' and the idea came to me partly because I'm a writer but also because I'd just moved to France and many of the situations are based on personal experiences!
