Whenever I had writer's block, I would simply wait as long as I needed to for a fresh idea to make its way to the surface. I would focus on what I wanted to do, review what I had already done, and try to think of what needed to happen next for the story to progress the way I wanted it to.

The idea for this book came from a mixture of games that I used to play and previous fantasy books that I had read. I wanted to write a book that was adventerous, fun, and interesting, that also didn't compromise on some personal beliefs.
