Gabe Cole Novoa Happy to help clarify! THE WICKED BARGAIN and THE DIABLO'S CURSE happen in the same universe, as THE DIABLO'S CURSE is a companion novel. They aren't technically series, and you don't necessarily have to read THE WICKED BARGAIN to understand THE DIABLO'S CURSE, but Dami from THE WICKED BARGAIN is a protagonist of THE DIABLO'S CURSE. Hope that helps!
Gabe Cole Novoa Hi! I'm not really sure how name changes on Goodreads work so I'll have to figure that part out, but I will be publishing under my name, Gabe, going forward. I'll talk more about that when my first book under my name sells! :)

Gabe Cole Novoa Assuming you're referring to the nine manuscripts I wrote before I got published, as I said in my first answer, I will not be publishing those.

As for manuscripts I've written after, we'll see! When I have news, I will share it. But my third book will be published in Fall 2018.

Lastly, BEYOND THE RED and INTO THE BLACK are both published. The e-books can be purchased at any major retailer.

Gabe Cole Novoa I'm working on my seventeeth manuscript right now. My debut was my tenth manuscript—and no, I probably won't be publishing the manuscripts I wrote before my debut. lol

Gabe Cole Novoa I started writing with the intention to one day publish almost exactly twelve years ago. :)
Gabe Cole Novoa I think the real question is what books AREN'T on my summer reading list this year?
Gabe Cole Novoa You know, I think when we lived there we just kind of...joked about it? Like if we didn't joke about it the alternative was to be paranoid and scared all the time and joking is more fun.

But there were moments that were very creepy so...there's that. lol
Gabe Cole Novoa My life really isn't that mysterious—but I lived in a haunted house once so that period of my life could easily be twisted into a YA Horror! >:D
Gabe Cole Novoa Hey there! I absolutely am still interested in writing a book with a disabled protagonist—and in fact have a project on my roster with just that. :) Still has a looooong way to go before it sees the light of day, but I'm working on it and I hope I'll be able to share it with everyone one day in the future!
Gabe Cole Novoa This...is a hard question? Hmm. Okay, I think basically all of the pairings in Six of Crows. That's one of the few fictional things I like where my favorite pairing isn't a ship that didn't actually happen. ;)
Gabe Cole Novoa Hi Shay!

Firstly, I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying my YouTube channel! That's always fun to know. As for your question, I've had characters surprise me many times, and I pretty much always go with it. I've found that more times than not, the way they surprised me was better than what I'd originally planned, anyway. :)
Gabe Cole Novoa I've loved speculative fiction for as long as I can remember—from Harry Potter to X-Men to The Lord of the Rings and more. My tastes haven't really changed at all—I've just learned how much variation and space for new creativity and nuance there is the more I've written and read. :)
Gabe Cole Novoa I generally fast draft, so I wrote BEYOND THE RED's first draft in 24 days—and it was about 61,000 words then (I added 30,000 words while revising). And thank you! :)
Gabe Cole Novoa I do! Critique partners are really important for various reasons—I would go as far to say they're essential to the writing process.

I found my critique partners through Twitter and an online convention, but a while back I wrote a post on 5 Places to Find Critique Partners that you might find helpful: http://avajae.blogspot.com/2013/07/5-...

I hope that helps! Good luck with your CP search!
Gabe Cole Novoa The world building for sure! I do enjoy the challenge of world building, and the end result is one I'm really happy with, but a large chunk of revisions I did in almost every revision round was spent on bulking up the world building. It wasn't easy, but it was definitely worth it. :)
Gabe Cole Novoa I know I've really enjoyed a book if it makes me feel something, so I certainly don't *mind* hearing that reader feels have been activated. :)
Gabe Cole Novoa Close your eyes and kill them off.
Kidding! Sort of.
Killing adored characters can sometimes be tough, but remember that if that's what your story calls for, then it's your job as the author to break everyone's hearts. :)
