Eric Stoffle My novel Trading Lives became a project when I decided to background one of the main characters in a novel I had been writing called The Trespass. Jamie Kelly was very interesting to me, and she had developed in the Trespass as a competent individual in tactics, weapons, and martial arts. But, she wasn't a cardboard character. I wanted to find out what made her tick, so I started a story that grew into a novella that grew into the novel Trading Lives.
Eric Stoffle I am currently back to writing The Trespass, which is a mystery crime thriller that I think has some intriguing plot twists. Joe Rampone and Jamie Kelly are back, and they are in the personal protection business. But they end up trying to solve a mystery from when Rampone was a detective, a case he never had the opportunity to resolve.
Eric Stoffle For me, writer's block is self-doubt and procrastination. The story is there, I simply have to write to find it. My writing really took off when I committed to writing every day. I also find a lot of inspiration from reading. Giving yourself permission to read can be a great way to compel yourself to write.
