Heather M. Herrman Hi Jason! Awesome to hear from you ;) Yes, I have a daily word count goal of 2,000 words, but sometimes, when I'm still in a research stage or when other circumstances (sick kid, etc.) don't allow me, I try to be patient with myself and realize that as long as I'm sitting down to write and making the effort I don't always have to be perfect.

As for the podcast, I'd love to do one again soon. I'm guessing that I'll be doing a lot more media once I get a second book out there, a draft of which I just finished.
Heather M. Herrman I try to write through it. There are a lot of authors who don't think writer's block is a real thing. I'm not one of them. What I do think it is, however, is a confidence issue. When we get scared that what we're writing isn't good enough, we tend to self-sabotage by "not having ideas." I think what we really mean by this is that the ideas we're having don't seem like the right ones, or good enough, and in the end that's just a road block we're throwing up for ourselves. So even if I think what I'm writing stinks, I write anyway. And maybe it does stink. Or maybe it doesn't. But pushing through is the only way to find out.
