How do you deal with writer’s block?
Milo Spires Breath, go to bed early, wake the next day and go up into the hills. Sit by a tree and watch the roads that are full of cars flying along them. After I return there is absolutely no writer block, I have ideas. I also wake in the morning with ideas too, my subconscious mind works overtime for me.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Milo Spires You are FREE, you can live where you want to live. Wake when your body wakes you. Wear tracksuit bottoms all day and not have the stresses of being submerged in the the fast paced world before your brain has even woken properly. I hate traffic and I hate waking before my body is ready too. Although my dog holds different view on that, naughty rascal.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Milo Spires Go for it, always push as hard as you can. Dont over do it though and make sure you get good sleep, a tired mind produces rubbish. Relax, you will be fine. Writing the novel is the easiest part. Promoting yourself afterwards is where the battle begins.

Milo Spires The sequel to Vampire Uprising called Entering Hell.

How do you get inspired to write?
Milo Spires My inspiration usually comes from walking up really steep hills with my German Shepherd who is running rings around me and laughing at my fitness levels compared to his. He makes me go and whilst we are up there lost in the undulating hillsides together, ideas somehow spring to mind.

Blame the stories on my dog.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Milo Spires When I was writing Vampire Uprising I was parked in a camper van up in the south downs way. I was in a place of real beauty called Devils Dyke which has Paramount views of the British coastline and villages scattered here and there as far as the eye can see. One of those villages called Fulking grabbed me. Blame it on the name but hey it was far more than that. After looking it up on Apple Maps I was hooked on the place, it really is breathtaking and has a lot of history. This village is not only my home now after recently renting a cottage here but it also gave me the idea of Entering Hell. After you have read the book, you will know what I mean. milo spires
