S.C. Green How did I come up with the idea of the Engine Ward an and alternate Georgian England where dinosaurs had never become extinct?

A few years ago, my husband got really interested in steam engines and trains, and he started dragging me around to all these yards and vintage railways. The Victorian era has always fascinated me, and so learning more about these engines and what they meant for society started the cogs whirring in my brain, so to speak. I started to learn more about the men who invented these machines, and about the Gauge Wars between Stephenson and Brunel. I thought, “wouldn’t it be interesting if the Gauge War was a real war?” And the idea kind of came from there.
S.C. Green I'm frantically trying to finish the draft of "The Gauge War", book 2 in the Engine Ward series. That should be done by the end of October, as well as a novella about faeries I'm editing, which will be a freebie for readers. In November I'm working on a new dystopian book for Nano. I can't wait! I love the feel of a new book on my fingers ...
