Writer's block doesn't often affect me. When it does, I typically walk away or work on another project for a while. I also draw upon inspiration from getting out and people watching, or picking up a great book to read!

Living in a world of my choosing and control. It's liberating and better than therapy! I feel the most alive when I’m creating worlds, characters and living inside their heads! I’m challenged to take all of that out of my head and bring it to life for the readers, hopefully so they enjoy living in my worlds as much as I do.

Write what you love or want to learn more about. Get excited about the learning process as much as the writing itself. If you dream to be a writer, think of yourself as a writer. There are countless resources out there, either online or in your local community, to learn the craft. No matter what, keep writing. It costs you nothing but a bit of your time, and who knows, maybe you’ll discover more about yourself!

I am midway in my planned five book series, The Weir Chronicles. I combine fantasy and science fiction in a story about a magical race of beings who hold Earth in harmony. They are dying out, and as a result, natural disasters are on the rise in frequency and intensity. In desperation they turn to modern science to perpetuate their race and to save Earth. But it's not wise to tinker with Mother Nature!

I don't typically have trouble coming up with inspiration, but since my world is based on earth and space science, if I do get stuck, I just turn on National Geographic, or similar type of shows. I always walk away with great ideas!

SLEIGHT OF HAND is the third book in my Weir Chronicles series, so I've had the idea for some time. It's the midway point of the five books, and is the turning point for not only the band of characters, but the overall plot dramatically shifts into its dark world.
