David Kuklis For me, it allows me to get away from my regular world for awhile. I work as an income analyst during the day, talking to investment managers about their client's portfolios. Being able to escape into my writing, and the alternate realm that I created, helps me to remain sane and do something completely different in my life.
David Kuklis When you get feedback from friends, family or other readers on what you are writing, take all of it as a positive. You cannot dwell on a negative comment or review. Use whatever is said and let it help you to become a better writer.
David Kuklis I like lifting weights to heavy metal music, which gets my mind going and my body pumping my blood faster. After I am done, I usual can continue to work on my next chapter or idea.
David Kuklis My uncle was paralyzed from the neck down in Vietnam. He was bedridden and my family always tried to come up with ways to keep him busy. We happened to run into Dungeons and Dragons and everybody enjoyed playing the game. My book uses characters that we created and played with from when I was a kid. I was able to incorporate the characters we played into the main characters in my first book.
David Kuklis I like to watch certain fight scenes from a couple different movies to get me in the mood for writing, especially my next fight scene in the book. My favorite scene to watch is actually the battle at the beginning of Gladiator.
David Kuklis I am working on the 2nd book, the sequel to Escape from Netherworld.
