Block is unavoidable. You need to learn to accept that as a writer. Sometimes, your characters will just stop talking. There doesn't even have to be a reason.
There are ways to try to lessen the frequency. I, personally, write out whatever I'm thinking. Even if it's out of order. This feels more natural to me and I don't run into block as often this way.

I would say, getting lost in my own mind while writing is almost like a high. You live in another world where you can influence the outcome, you fall in love with so many people, and you get to share that world with others who are happy to live in it with you. It's magic, really.

Do it.
Don't be afraid of criticism as it is just trimming the fat.
You can't please everyone.
It's a lot of work to self-publish, but it is worth the time and effort.

Currently, I'm working on the next installment of the BT series. I already have a lot of it written out, just needing to piece things together. I'm hoping to have it finished and ready by some time in January. Also, check out my blog for my random rants about being distracted by other story ideas.

I don't know about you, but I'm a constant thinker. Simple everyday situations can stem an idea. I also get inspired by reading other authors. There's nothing like consulting your co-workers when you need a good boot to the rear! :)

I think I might have said this a few times before, but this entire idea started with a dream I had as a child. It evolved from a quick poem, to short story, to novel between the ages of 8 and 16. Throughout the years, I'd rewrite for the simple pleasure of how deep I could take it. Now it has turned into an entire series, just because I had an extremely vivid dream.
