Michael Mendoza That brings me back to the movie, Throw Momma from the Train. I watch that movie and get a few laughs and then get back to work.
Michael Mendoza I love to spend time with my characters and doing the research. The best thing is when someone reads it and says they love it. Wow, how exciting is that.
Michael Mendoza To quote the movie "Throw Momma from the Train," "A writer writes - always!" Write it and have it professionally edited.
Michael Mendoza I just finished a fiction I have titled, The Hand of Vengeance. The Hand of Vengeance is a dystopian fiction in which Anthony Drake returns from years of false imprisonment to find the United States of America has been transformed from a republic to a totalitarian form of government. In his exile, Drake accepts a misguided understanding of God’s justice. Drake seeks to destroy the four people who sacrificed him for their own personal gain in New America. He believes he is the hand of God’s vengeance to deliver justice. As he grows in his personal journey, he discovers that mercy is greater than revenge. It is a story of intrigue, deception, betrayal, vengeance, truth and of redemption in a new America that is no longer a republic.
Michael Mendoza I graduated from high school unable to read so after I learned to read very few things I like. So, now I have decided to write at something I would like to read. Since I have always been interested in history and have earned a masters degree in US history, I figured this would be enjoyable. I was right.
Michael Mendoza I acquired letters written by the main character later in his life to his grown daughter. When she passed away in the early 1990s, she was 95 years old. I inherited all her things as well as her father's things. Among the stuff was his letters recounting his experience in the war. I also have a second letter later in his life relating his adventures after the war. He went to South America and work the railroads in Peru where he met his wife. I hope one day to write about that.
