I first had the idea come to me in a dream. I just woke up and was like, "I have to write about this." I never intended for it to become a book. I thought it'd be a short story, but that turned into a novella, which turned into a full-blown novel. The book is based off of my perceptions of the world. Many of the characters are based off of people I love.
I based one of the characters off of my very good friends. I told her that she dies in the book. She asked, "Why would you kill me?" (Note: It's not really her, but I see her point.) I replied, "I had to kill you so that I can imagine what it would be like for the main character to go through that death."

I breathe writing. It has been my escape from the real world. The fact that I can create an entirely new reality-- blows my mind. So that’s what I do. For that brief moment of time, I can forget everything. My problems, my stress, and my life. Don’t get me wrong- I have a great life, but I get stressed and have issues just like everyone else.
There are days when emotion and hardships are too tough to handle, so I bring up a Word document and just type. Sometimes, it isn't good writing, but it is a good creative outlet. My biggest joy is the fact I can escape.
