The idea for Beacon of Sound has been floating around in my head since I was 16. The story finally came together when I went home to visit my home town. It was as if Marie was following me around town.

As a writer, I am able to pour my thoughts out without having to worry about someone's reaction. My character Marie has no problem with being mouthy and aggressive. I admire her ability to be herself no matter what anyone thinks.

I listen to a lot of music. During the creation of Beacon of Sound, I listened to music 7 days a week in order to be inspired and find the songs that fit into the story. The Beacon of Sound playlist is on repeat on my phone and laptop.

I am currently working on the first book from my new series Hearts Unbound. In about 3 weeks. I will start working on Beacon holiday which is a novella from The Noir Dera series.

I usually read the section I am working on to my husband or email it to my book club. Usually their feedback helps me move past my writer's block. If all else fails, I eat chocolate.
