The whole "Lincoln, Fox and the Bad Dog" series began with the idea "What if we stripped Doctor Who to its most basic elements, swapped the Britishisms for Americanisms, then put it back together again?" That idea evolved over a couple of years and several false starts into what became the story of Lincoln, his magical gun and his demigod dog companion.

For me, writer's block means that I've made a mistake. I backtrack until I find the place where I took a lazy shortcut or didn't really think things through, and I do the work. That opens it up.
