Hello. Sorry this took me so long to answer. I am finishing up edits on Aurora 6, Brush Up On Murder. No publishing date yet. Will let you know when I have something definite.

On the fiction side, I plan on catching up on the Style and Error mystery series by Diane Vallere as well as some books by Kylie Logan (Gone With the Twins and Hot Button). On the non-fiction side, I'm going to delve into some books on Maya Hieroglyphs.

When I first saw this question, I thought "There's nothing." But then I remembered a genealogical research project I did a few years back. No one in my family seemed to know what happened to one of my great grandfathers. He'd disappeared from view in the early 1900s. After some research, I figured out the mystery. While this isn't all that exciting, a good mystery could develop out of looking for a "lost" relative.

Well, um, it's tole painting. :-> Or decorative painting as it's often called. I got started in the 90s when I group of us at work started meeting in the conference room at lunchtime and worked on projects.

I've always loved mysteries. I woke up one morning with an idea I thought was good and decided to give it a try. Many years and many versions later it's being published!

Two things come to mind: (1) I get to work in my pjs if I want and (2) I get to research interesting things as part of my job.

Exercise or other physical activity often helps. Sometimes, I'm stuck because I'm trying to make my characters do things they wouldn't do. So, reviewing the bios I've written on them and thinking about their personalities usually pinpoints the problem.

Keep on writing. Try your hand at short stories and novels. Write what you like to read. I love mysteries and have been reading them every since I can remember.

I'm currently working on the second book in the Aurora Anderson Mystery Series set at a tole painting convention.
