All of my books are about women becoming empowered, a process I experienced personally after leaving an abusive first marriage many years ago. So I would say that sets the initial idea, and then my answer to the previous question triggers where this character is heading.

I am inspired by nature first. I live on an Island and find that water, mountains, and forests always inspire me. I read a lot and sometimes an event, a person, or something I see triggers an idea for a new story.

I've finished The Georgia Series and have written Magnolia Tree, The Crossing Trilogy, Book 1. I'm now working on Chameleon Games, Book 2.This series has a magical realism element too it as well.

Study your craft. The internet is a wonderful thing in that anything you want to know is available to you at your fingertips. Never give up, keep on keeping on writing.

I like being focused on something. I have always been a dreamer and now I can put that to paper. It's a powerful feeling too to create a character and have them take on a life of their own. It feeds my creativity.

I usually do something related to writing, like research, updating my bio, starting acknowledgements, developing a character, etc.. That usually gets me back on track and into the groove.
