Pirates! was one of the first books that I read for pleasure as a kid and to this day it is my favorite! After moving so many times, I unfortunately lost my old copy and am looking to buy another one now. I still think about this book today and I cannot wait to have a physical copy in my hand to read again. Will there be any more copies printed with the original paperback book graphics?

Thanks for getting in touch. So glad you enjoyed Pirates! and that it is still a favourite. I, also, loved the art work on the original editions, but I don't have any copies left, I'm afraid. You might try Abeboooks - they often have old editions.good luck with your search!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Celia Rees I found an old cookery book among my mother's effects. It contained hand written recipes from my grandmother, my mother and my aunt. There were no letters, so this was the only written connection between them. There was something there I wanted to write about.

How do you get inspired to write?

Celia Rees Inspiration just comes, you don't necessarily go looking for it. It can come from anywhere: something you see, something you hear a place you visit, something someone tells you. It helps to be aware.

What are you currently working on?

Celia Rees A sequel to Miss Graham's Cold War Cookbook following Dori, telling her story.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Celia Rees Keep going, be persistent, don't give up. Don't be afraid to discard a piece that isn't working but don't though anything away. Don't be too hard on yourself, but don't be too soft, wither. Act like you are your own best writing buddy.
