New Orleans has a particularly sense of dark humor. However, this humor is not undercut with bitterness. It's undercut with hope and hedonism. When we throw a jazz funeral, we really are happy to send the dead loved one off in style. No one is forcing us to celebrate in the face of pain. We enjoy it.
