There are a number of ways that I have overcome this. First, step away from the work for a few hours, days, weeks, whatever. Secondly, step back from the scene you're writing, especially if you feel like you're getting "stuck in the weeds." Perhaps attempting to see the final outcome will help you back track and fill in the blanks of what you need to do.

I am currently working on a story that illuminates what military life is really like for spouses and families. I hope that it will give a glimpse behind the veil of the sacrifices military families make and help those who aren't in the military see the experience in a whole new, and very real, light.

I will "chew" on an idea to get all the flavor out of it. I also run ideas by some very close friends to get their feedback. I am a studier of people and when given the chance, will dig deeper into relationships.

I have come across many women that are so broken, but paint a smile on their face and respond with "I'm fine" when asked how they're doing. Every woman, every person, has had their psyche chipped, nicked, and even warped by life. I hope to help heal some of those hurts by directing them to the Healer through a very real and believable character. Faith is vulnerable and so are her friends.
