J. Fremont Serious writers know that writing a novel is a part inspiration but mostly discipline. I think about what I want to write about and then do research. Some people might consider this hard work or boring, but I love learning about new things. I get inspired as all this knowledge fills my head, and aspects of the story fall together like magic.
J. Fremont A novel set in California. I can't give too many details because it is in the nascent stage.
J. Fremont Making up stories and having fun while doing it.
J. Fremont Be yourself, your own voice, and keep going.
J. Fremont If I am stuck, I take my mind off of it. I do something else creative like art, gardening, and cooking. Even cleaning the house can help; I can't tell you how many notions come to me while vacuuming! Thinking about other people's creativity and being inspired has sent me great ideas or solutions flying out of the blue. I am always amazed when that happens.
J. Fremont I had several dreams about Lalique and I didn't know him. I wrote an article for Women Writer's, Women's Books about this very thing. A great website to check out.
