When we were kids, we had a UFO experience I cannot explain to this day. It started as some bizarre UFO that was on the neighbor's farm, where the cows would normally be. It was night, so all we could see were the lights that were going about in a circular motion around the outside of it. The lights didn't go out until we suggested getting a better look or a picture, I don't recall which, as if it were listening to us. We went to the van and got in it, but then a few lights turned on at the edge of the farm fence and flew over the van. The weird part was when we looked directly above us where the middle of the UFO should have been there was nothing--as if it were transparent. Later that night a building on the farm caught fire and burned down. One of the weirdest, unexplained things that has ever happened in my life.

A book series that follows a private investigator named Mercedes Masterson. I'm working on the first book, which finds her starting her private firm just as a serial killer starts up his career. I'm on Draft 3? Looking to get an editor locked in as well. I'm fingers crossed I can release it in 2020.

Typically, I hunt and find music that suits the mood I'm aiming for in the scene of the story I'm working on. I sit back and try to just soak in the music. Works if you don't have a story or idea at all, just find something that creates a lot of visuals in your head and let them flow out of you.
