Gail Chumbley I think Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson has to be the best. Despite all of the dramatized interpretations of the partnership, Conon Doyle's original version still resonates. As far as theatrical treatments, the 1980's Granada TV production starring Jeremy Brett and Edward Hardwicke remains truest to the printed works.

Gail Chumbley My books come from primary documents; letters, logbooks, theater bills, menu's . . . With a history background, I was thrilled to set my protagonists story into the larger historical setting. In a sense I 'connected the dots' of the Chumbley saga to their times.
Gail Chumbley The second installment, "River of January: The Figure Eight," the story carries on into the Second World War. Chum is called back to active duty as a Naval pilot, and Helen becomes an accomplished skater. While he serves in the South Pacific, she dazzles the ice in New York City.
Gail Chumbley I had no idea how protective and sensitive I am about my work. I'm getting better about rejection, but its as if my book is my baby, and I want everyone to think my baby is wonderful. But that isn't going to happen with all readers. I have to remember every reader has their own taste in books.
