I have to say. Your book came up as something I may like, and I did! I started it in November and have read another three of your books since then. I can't wait to get the next one. Who are some of your favorite authors?
Sally Hepworth I'm thrilled that you have enjoyed my books Cassi. My favourite writers are Liane Moriarty, Holly Wainright, Ann Patchett, Mary Kubica, Sue Monk Kidd, Greer Hendrix and Sarah Pekkanen, J.P. Pomare to name a few!

After loving Mother in Law I was excited to read more of your books. I just finished the Family Next Door. Loved it as well. Just curious as an Australian writer why it’s written in US English? Diaper, Mom, neighbor etc. it’s not a big deal, but I love Australian books, so it sparked my curiosity.
Sally Hepworth Hi there! Thanks for your question. It was actually written in Australian English but my publisher in the U.S. made some changes to help readers follow. The Australian version is in AU English.

I loved this book. A quote-you know you've read a good book when you turn the last page & feel like you have lost a friend. I was talking about your book last night; how much I enjoyed the characters, their lives, their thoughts. I downloaded a new book & started reading it yesterday. I just can't get into it yet. A friend said; sometimes you need time to grieve the end of a book before you begin a new one? I agree.

I just finished The Mother-In-Law. I've read all your books and really liked this one. I have a question though. Where did the $ come from that Tom & Nancy had? Her parents disowned her and he wasn't going to make that kind of money at his job. Did I miss the part in the book explaining this?
Sally Hepworth Tom made the money! He was a self-made property developer.

I loved "Mother-In-Law" because at one time or another, I thought each of the principal characters did it, even the mother-in-law. My question is did her poor, abusive background make her think that she was helping her children by refusing to help them, and/ or was she really a tad bit evil? I appreciated the subplot of grown children's equation of money with love, especially from parents. Amazing novel.
Sally Hepworth Thank you Kimberly. I don't think Diana was evil, but then I don't tend to think anyone is evil. My philosophy is that we're all capable of good and bad, and we are all products of our upbringing and experiences. I think Diana's intentions were good, even if they were misguided at times, so yes, I think you are spot on about her background influencing her. I'm so glad you enjoyed the novel.

Well you’ve done it again. Making me stay up reading Mother InLaw. I love it. Which one of your books should I read next? Just enough thriller and I like the different points of view.
Sally Hepworth Hello Sallie (great name). Thank you so much, I'm thrilled you enjoyed The Mother-In-Law. Whenever I'm asked the question which of my own books to read, I always suggest The Mother In Law and The Things We Keep (my personal favourites of my own books). That said, if you are a fan of the thriller, perhaps you might enjoy The Family Next Door? The Secrets of Midwives also has a mystery at its heart. Let me know what you decide :)

Sally Hepworth Hi Graham. I always called the book Love Like The French, but I believe the direct translation of the title is When you're by my side. I hope that helps!

Sally Hepworth I WISH I was going to be promoting in your area. Unfortunately, the more likely scenario is that I'll be at home in Australia breastfeeding my newborn. Talk about timing! I fully intend to visit the US in 2018, and D.C. will definitely be on my list because a good friend of mine lives there. In the meantime, I'd be happy to post over signed bookplates to your store, and and / or Skype in to a book club or event and answer questions. You might even get a glimpse of my baby. I just finished reading "The Things we Keep" and enjoyed it so much I had to read " The Secrets of Midwives" I love your style of writing and the story each person tells in their own individual chapters. I'm eagerly awaiting your next book. When do you anticipate that it will be available in stores? I think you may have become my new favorite author!

What a beautiful read Sally. Please take this a huge complement but I expected you to be a lot older and not as glamorous and gorgeous . This is a book I am going to pass on to my mum to read and hopefully my own daughter who is 13 ..... When she is ready of course .... So I gues I should get to the question ..... What are you working on at the moment ?
Sally Hepworth Hi Amber, Aren't you lovely? I can assure you that I am far less glamorous than my photos, but I will cling to your comment for weeks. As for your question, I am working on a first draft for a new book that is yet to be named. I have, however, already finished and delivered my next book, By Myself with You, which will be published later this year or early next year. By Myself with You also follows women (4 this time) going through major life changes. If you enjoyed The Things We Keep, you will likely enjoy it (I hope!).
