Perry Lake Hello, Marie. I’m not disturbed at all; thank you for your interest in my books. I suppose I’m something of an authority on vampires, given my lifelong study of folklore and classic literature. In my LEGEND OF DRACULA series, I follow Stoker’s rules concerning vampires, i.e., they are undead, supernatural, infectious, the ultimate apex predators. I would further add that vampires, especially those of Dracula’s line, represent the worst excesses of the noble classes. They are the ultimate capitalists, feeding on those they consider inferior, taking what they want when they want, devastating and corrupting all within their reach. They are the antithesis of science and rationality. Vampires are evil incarnate, and utterly irredeemable.
So, yeah; a lot of fun to write about.
Not sure what you mean by extraterrestrial civilizations, since I hardly ever write sci-fi, except as a basis for my horror stories. Believe it or not, my vampires have a scientific origin! I have plans for more sci-fi/horror stories in the future.
Perry Lake Sanctuary lost.
Perry Lake Ann Darrow and Kong. Sure, they had everything going against them--tribal customs, bestiality laws, penis size--but none of that stopped their love. Only aeroplanes could do that.
Perry Lake As the read date is not over, not a problem. Drop me your email address, Nadine, and I'll shoot you a copy.
Perry Lake Absolutely, Lynda. All I need is your email address and your format preference (mobi or PDF). Thanks for your interest. Perry
Perry Lake Give the similarity of my DRACULA series and your SHADOW series, I'd say we think alike often! Cool! Glad you liked COLD PRINT, TP.
Perry Lake You can promote yourself as anything--but if it's not your target audience, you're wasting your time, maybe your money. Join groups related to your writing. Goodreads has groups of vampire fans, zombie fans, ghost fans, serial killer fans, alien abduction fans, etc. Join the groups that match what you plan to write. And try to be active, join some discussions. Popping in ONLY to promote your book will make you look like a mercenary.
Perry Lake Naturally, after writing a Dracula trilogy, I MUST write a Frankenstein trilogy, right? OK, maybe it's not required, but I'm doing it anyway. I've already sold the first two books to DDP and they should be out next year. I still have a lot of work on the third one, though.
Also in the works are books on ghouls and Ancient Egyptian horrors! Oh, and the Dracula books are not stopping at three.
