C.H. MacLean I haven’t suffered from writer’s block the way most people talk about it. In quiet moments, stories appear to me, play out as movies in my head. I have collected more notes of stories than I will ever have the time to write. But sometimes, especially when I am tired, I have a really hard time focusing on just the important parts of the story. I can feel I’m too much in the story, and it’s just swirling. At that point I have to stop writing and get some sleep.
C.H. MacLean I think it's the idea that someone out there will get to enjoy reading the story. I love to read and know how much I enjoy a good book. Thinking someone else is going to have that same feeling from my book is the best.
C.H. MacLean Just keep writing. Find the time however you can, and pour your heart and soul into it.
C.H. MacLean I sat down, just to consider if I could write something real, you know, something I would want to read. I didn’t think I had an idea at all. All at once, like a pop-up window, an image replaced the page in front of me. A curly-haired girl, thinking she is less than normal when she is really incredibly powerful. She just appeared and started showing me what happened.

I originally thought it was all one book, but when I started writing, it became apparent that this was a really long story and had to be written as a series. My most recent published book, Two Empty Thrones, is the second book in the series.
C.H. MacLean I have no idea where the actual need or urge to write comes from. I’m sure there is some biochemical or psychological explanation, but saying it’s a calling works for me. But the actual inspiration to do all the hard work comes from hearing how other people enjoy it. To think I can be part of what makes life fun and interesting for people is such an honor.
C.H. MacLean Almost finished writing the third book in the Five in Circle series, We The Three. I also have another book, Fire Above, about a young man who dared to dream and started the first ever human vs. dragon war. That book is going through the first round of edits now and is currently scheduled to be released in early 2015.
