C.J. Fallowfield Hi Dorcas, thanks so much for your question.
I guess pretty much everywhere. It helps that I've always had a very vivid imagination, but I can "see" the story behind a picture or object. Just people watching is a great tool to inspire characters. I think it also helps if you watch Movies/TV and read a lot too. As an example, I really enjoyed the TV show White Collar, which starred Matt Bomer. Like most women I found him incredibly gorgeous to look at, with a high level of charisma. When I thought about writing my "For the Night" series, which features a male escort called Logan Steele, Matt's character of Neal Caffrey came straight to mind as the perfect muse for Logan.
Headlines in the news can give you an idea of a general story that you can then add your own spin to.
For any aspiring authors who worry about where to get inspiration, I'd say to look for a creative writing class at your local college - it was a great starting point for me when I was thinking about trying my hand at writing my first novel!
C.J. Fallowfield Hi Sam, oh wow, how amazing! No, I don't know any of the history of the name. I wanted to make up a name for a hotel, and when I searched for a Domville place name and hotel name, nothing came up. I had no idea it was a genuine surname!
C.J. Fallowfield Hi Kelly, so glad to hear that! I would say my upcoming release Torn is the most like that series. It's a new adult erotic romance, with lots of angst and drama. There's less of the humour I'm known for with all of my erotic romance novels, but my beta readers loved it. It's listed on Goodreads already, with a paperback giveaway offer opening tomorrow. But it's not out until 31st August. If you're quick, my standalone novel The Temptress is free today if you haven't tried that one! All of my work is erotic romance with humour, so you should find some similarities in all of them though, CJ x
C.J. Fallowfield Hi Raj, thanks for getting in touch, I saw that you enjoyed that story and thanks so much for the great review. I'm not sure I'd do a full series, as The Domville series was, for me, about exploring new territory and writing about subjects I felt strongly about, some away from my normal genres. But I am tempted to do either a standalone M/M, or possibly a book where the character was either bi-sexual, or charted his early days from being hetrosexual to realising that he was in fact only attracted to men. I've also been asked about a F/F novel, after readers fell for my supporting characters, Brooke and Mollie, from my 31 Days trilogy. I have quite a few works in progress to cover me for a while, so it would be a few years off if I ever do either of those I'm afraid! CJ
C.J. Fallowfield Hi Timmy Jane,
Thanks for getting in touch. I do plan to write some more books from the Austin universe. In 2016 I will be doing a Lexi spin off, as well as one about Nevada 6, Sam's band. At some stage I will do a Robert Austin book, covering his life with Tabby and Sofia. I may do a Tyler Jackson (the Doctor Mia had a crush on) one too and I'll definitely be doing another about one of the characters that will show some of Gabe and Mia's lives in the future. I don't plan to do a new Gabe and Mia book with them as the focus, as I feel I've told their story, it's time for their loved ones to shine! I hope this news makes you happy! CJ x
C.J. Fallowfield Janee, I answered your question last year to say that I hoped to have the rest of The Austin Series out in other retailers at the back end of 2014, but at the moment I'm afraid I'm staying in my contract with Amazon. If that ever changes, I'll post on here, my website blog and Facebook page. CJ x
C.J. Fallowfield I have a busy five months ahead, as usual! For the rest of 2015 my planned writing schedule is to finish The Domvile 4, 5 & 6 (my erotica novella series). Then I need to conclude the 31 Days trilogy with 31 Days of Autumn. Finally I plan to write under my other pen name, Charlotte Fallowfield, my first romantic comedy, "Until We Collide"
C.J. Fallowfield Hey Superbook! I didn't really think of it like that, I just write what feels right for a character from my point of view, and what I find amusing. Toilet humour is a particular favourite of mine! I know that whatever you write, there will always be people who don't like it, or the particular character, but that's a risk you take when you put your work out there to the general public. I think a writer just has to stay true to themselves and write something they believe in and can be proud of. I write because I love it and I get withdrawals if I'm not writing, I hope that I never bow to pressure of the minority who don't like my style - so I'm really happy that you are another reader that does love it and is continuing to follow my work! Thank you <3 CJ x
C.J. Fallowfield Hi Timmy Jane! Thank you so much for your kind words and that awesome review for The Austin Series! I am working on new books. The next out is the first in my mini erotica series - The Domville. It features Lexi, from The Austin Series, so that may be of interest to you, and it's out on 12th June. I'll be releasing one of those a month from June 2015 to January 2016. All That Glisters, my next standalone erotic romance novel is out on 4th September and that features supporting characters from The Temptress, which was recently released. Then in December, 31 Days of Autumn, the sequel to 31 Days of Summer is out. I have my upcoming projects listed on my website, which is the best place to find out what's happening with me:

Thanks again, you made my day!

C.J. Fallowfield Hey Jessica! Thanks so much for your kind words. I must admit Audiobooks aren't something I had considered, never having used one myself. I will look into that though, as I think Amazon offer a facility for it to be done. I'm just in the process of having the entire series re-edited, with two books left to finish, and then the new box set would need to be uploaded too, so probably best I wait until they are done and then I could look at this option, for all of my books. I'll make sure to post back on my website and social media sites if this happens! CJ x
C.J. Fallowfield Hey Am! Thank you so much for contacting me, I love hearing from readers, especially when they loved my books!! If you read the Logan books in order then yes he will have a HEA. They can be read as standalones, with complete stories within them with a few different clients and one recurring, but I'd really recommend reading them in order as his character growth is really special. If you have a moment to rate all my books on Goodreads that would be amazing, even better if you were able to post a review of the whole box set on there and on Amazon. Thanks for getting in touch and I hope that my answer helped! CJ x
C.J. Fallowfield Hi Kelly! Thanks for your question. To be honest I don't, but I was late to the erotic romance genre, only picking up my first book in December 2012. I thought I wouldn't enjoy it and was really surprised to find I loved it! So far all of the books I have read in this genre seem to focus on power couples in their late 20's or early 30's. I'd love to hear what books you think are similar to mine and I'll check then out. CJ
C.J. Fallowfield I had a dream of a boathouse on an island and a man saving me from drowning and in my head everything was so clear, I started writing my book based around that.
C.J. Fallowfield Be a reader first, find the genre you love above all others and that's probably where you should start as a writer
C.J. Fallowfield Getting lost in your own imagination
C.J. Fallowfield I look at pictures or objects, pictures in particular inspire me.
