Devora Goree I've been writing creatively on my own since I was around ten years old. I started writing poetry and then songs, then short stories. I've got to say the best thing about writing is delving off into virtually another dimension alone, where I get to explore and create and mold new lives. When it comes to poetry and songs, though, I love writing in riddles, the use of imagery, metaphors and anologies. I thinkI get a thrill out of knowing that there may be many interpreters--those who search for meaning in particular lines--but the author being the only one that truly knows what he or she meant.
Devora Goree It is tough I'd say. I used to get major writer's block when I first started writing novel. Now, however, I get writer's block only when major life changes occur. For instance, I just got remarried, and I've kind of had to pull away and take a moment to relax when no one's around--save our little one--turn on some music (usually something that I can envision playing in the background of a certain scene in the novel) and just binge out in my imagination. This usually never fails with me. =)
