Bev Elle My inspiration to write comes from everywhere. People watching. Things I've read in the past, or in the present. Things people tell me. Music. Movies. You name it. I can draw from it.
Bev Elle Two WIPs, one is a romance set in Paris and the other is a literary book to be published under another pen name.
Bev Elle Write only if you're so passionate about it, it's as necessary as air and water. If it's just a hobby, drop it. Also, if you are serious about writing, hone your craft always!
Bev Elle The best thing about being a writer for me is creating something out of nothing. I love building worlds around my characters, and putting them in impossible situations just to see how they squirm out of them :)
Bev Elle Usually, I try to write on something else if I'm blocked on one project. If that doesn't work I read to try and get inspiration. And if that doesn't work, still, I write whatever comes to mind. Usually I end up revising what I write, but at least I got some words down. Then my final device I use to get my mojo working again is telling the story, then reworking the telling into a scene.
Bev Elle I was brainstorming for a plot to write a novella with a theme set in or around an airport, and I quickly decided my heroine would be a Ticket Agent who was formerly a Flight Attendant. Her love interest was always going to be a Doctor who lived down the street from her, but then I was flipping through channels on the television and saw "As Good As It Gets," was playing. Then I had the idea to make them both have Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder, but one would be more extreme than the other. :)
