I am currently working on the first draft of book three of my Valley of the Bees trilogy.
"Her Name was Amber" is a short story prequel to "Valley of the Bees."
In "With Envy Stung," Book One of the "Valley of the Bees" trilogy, sixteen-year-old Valley finds out her Uncle Jacob has plans to marry her off to the son of a rich and powerful mayor. Valley must fight for the right to make her own life choices in a not-so-distant future world without bees.

I was out for a walk, and a conversation started to form in my head between these two old grandmothers. I listened for a while to figure out who they were and what they were talking about. They were very worried about the path their granddaughter was taking. Then I had to figure out who their granddaughter was and what her problem was. Next thing I knew, I had written 200 pages about her. Now I'm just trying to clean it up so I can share it with you!

Just keep writing, even if it's garbage. I'll write about taking out the garbage if that's what it takes. Sometimes you just have to keep priming the pump until the words finally start to flow!
