Ray M. Vento Currently working on another Sam Caruso story. This one is likely to be about the relationship Sam has with his younger disabled brother.
Ray M. Vento I tend to write from watching the story unfold like a movie in my mind. As such, the difficulties I am faced with in writing is trying to put down the words as fast as the "movie story" projects in my head. To help me, I pre-select music (like a film score) that later brings me back to my story.
Ray M. Vento I was inspired to write "Over the Ivy Covered Fence" from two experiences. When I was boy growing up in Los Angeles, I use to spend many afternoons talking with an elderly next door neighbor over the fence that separated our properties. Like so many adults from my childhood, she was a wonderful story teller and loved to garden. The second experience came much later as an adult when I met a rather lage black Labrador-mix dog named Sauvage. Up to meeting Sauvage, I was apprehensive about being around large dogs, but, in time my fears were replaced by a strong bond of love. So this book was intended to show through friendship some fears can be conquered.
