Very sorry about the extreme delay in responding to your question.
The short answer to your question is, no, I can't tell you a two-sentence horror story, or in fact any story in two sentences. I long ago decided that short stories weren't for me!
Many thanks for writing.

Not sure what a 'fictional book world' is. If you mean something like the Middle Earth or whatever it was called, Tolkien's creation, I wouldn't be interested. The real world is far too fascinating, and there are many places I haven't visited yet.

The answer to your question is that I don't have reading lists. I read whatever takes my fancy, usually because I've read a positive review or, less often, because the story line intrigues me.

Spenser, (his first name is never revealed) the private eye from Robert B Parker's crime stories, and his muse Susan Silverman, in the long-running series that came to an end with Parker's death in 2010.
Why? Because of their mutual wisecracking and sexual innuendos. Their sexual relationship too was subtly expressed yet in some mysterious way came across as explicit.

I never suffer from it. Words flow readily. They may not be the right words, but it's important to keep up the momentum. You can always revise and refine the text later.

I have no idea. There is a sense of achievement, but that only comes after completion of a book, and it doesn't last long.

Develop a thick skin. Persistance and determination are all, as former US president Woodrow Wilson once said. When it comes to trying to find a publisher, or even an agent, you'll need an awful lot of it!

Just completed Volume IV in the Andre Warner, Manhunter series. Now I'll take a break and in a month do a full substantive edit.

No inspiration, it's pure compulsion. The urge comes first then the idea then the development. Then the actual graft of writing.

It came to me in a dream.
