Allan Hudson Not usually. I get a spark of an idea and roll from there. Sometimes, I know how I want it to end but not the specific ending.
Allan Hudson To Middle Earth and help kill some orcs. Meet Frodo and visit the Shire.
Allan Hudson True Identity by Gisele Bourgeois. What She Saw by Wendy Clarke. The Allspice Bath by Sonia Saikaley. Where the Crawdads Sind by Delia Owens.
Allan Hudson The couple I enjoy reading about is Patrick Kenzie and Angie Genarro. They are lovers and private investigators that appears in several Dennis LeHane novels. They are a witty and intelligent characters. Lots of street smarts. LeHane has created 2 unforgettable people in this series.
Allan Hudson My most recent novel which is in its first draft is centered around an Incan monument of gold. When I discovered information about Machu Picchu, I was enthralled by the idea of a hidden city, an Incan empire and what else was left behind to discover? How could I incorporate Incan gold and my favorite character Drake Alexander? I expect the novel will be in Hard Cover in about 8-9 months. It is called The Wall of War. Watch for it.
Allan Hudson There are many things that can inspire a story or places one can find inspiration. My favorite spot is near the waters of the eastern coast of Canada. In front of my house the bay is full of colors, moody waters, birds, sometimes animals, fishermen, sunrises and a island that lies offshore that holds mysteries of days long ago. There is enough fodder for my imagination. Old men and children also are one of my favorite subjects.
Allan Hudson I am 95% finished with me second novel, The Wall of War. A thriller set in Peru that involves the Incas and their gold. My main character, Drake Alexander, follows cryptic clues in hopes of saving a close friend from greedy men. The story starts in 1953 when an amateur rock climber discovers a cave with a hidden monument that is perhaps over 400 years old. Due to an untimely death, the man that finds the hidden treasure is unable to tell anyone of its whereabouts. The secret lies buried for another 50 years.
Allan Hudson It's all about the writing, developing the habit of getting words on paper as often as you can. Take notes when an idea occurs because you'll likely forget it. I like to write chapters, then do a soft edit, read back my dialogue to see if it makes sense.
Allan Hudson When that happens, I need to get away from the story for a time, maybe an hour, maybe a day or two. I like to make notes to myself about my characters and where I want them to be. I find that just taking a break usually works.
