David Siddall Hi Russ, sorry, I've only just seen your question. I haven't got anything about Doyle at the moment, although, there is plenty of potential for something more. Have plenty of notes and some ideas, so I don't think we've seen the end of him just yet! Currently working on another novella, something similiar though with different characters. Glad you enjoyed the story.
David Siddall Never had it. So much going on in my head I have to shift through it to find what I want to write.
David Siddall Being in control of a world that doesn't truly exist. You can manipulate characters to do your will! Having said that, how is it that some of these characters don't do what you want? Best bit is when they take on a life of their own.
David Siddall If you get a good idea, stick with it. No matter how many rewrites or rejections. If you believe in the piece and you know it's good, go for it.
David Siddall Another novella of about the same length. Different character but set in the same area. If I say the main character's name is Chance, an inveterate gambler, you may get a flavour of the piece.
David Siddall It's just a physical manifestation of the thought process. Stories go on in my head all the time.
David Siddall It was a magazine article. The reporter had a remit to see if it was possible to buy anything from certain pubs - such as: a handgun. The photo of him holding the pistol with a pint and a smoke at the table was so evocative, I had a scene right there. The rest just followed.
