Scarlett Flame My biggest advice is to read others works. Not only in the genre or genres you write in, but others you might not of thought of.

I love an eclectic selection of genres. Of course I love erotica, Steampunk and paranormal romance but, I also love thrillers, horror stories, autobiographies, romance and much more.

I love the use of words and settings, look at pace too. A book can be mediocre when an author writes all at one pace.

Listen to others, other authors can be a resource and not competition.
Scarlett Flame I am currently working on a couple of projects including a children's book under another name, and the first in a series of books. The next book out will be a paranormal erotic romance set on the steampunk world of Syros, called The Prophecy Unfolds (Dragon Queen).

There will be a minimum of three in this series of books. I will be posting an excerpt from this book once editing is complete and my beta readers have given me feedback.
Scarlett Flame My inspiration comes in many forms. From the books I love to read, programmes I love to watch and films too. I pull ideas and words through these sources and make lists and notes to help me remember. I am a list maker. Lists of words, lists of characters and places.
Scarlett Flame My most recent book idea was through a dream I had to be honest. I made some notes and then expanded the idea through building the characters, in and around the world of Syros which is a Steampunk world full of some of my favourite types of paranormal urban characters such as werewolves and dragons.
Scarlett Flame I can only speak about myself, but I just love to write and put my thoughts and feeling down on paper. It, like reading, takes me to another world, another place and another time. I can be my characters and act out, and experience things I probably never would in reality.
Scarlett Flame I had this earlier on the year, but it was because of my home circumstances and once I had got my head back together the words began to just flow again.

I think if you aren't in a good place it is difficult to write. I am not in the best place just now, just a bit of a better place.
