Hermione Chase It's one of a series of books centred around one character, a US Union Army doctor injured fatally at Gettysburg. Turned into a part vampire to ensure his survival, he works with his benefactor over the coming years safeguarding earth from invading creatures from other plains.
Having established the basis for the characters, I've put them in the context of true to life mysteries that we all know and are fascinated by. This time it is Jack the Ripper and why he was never caught.
Hermione Chase I love to read and watch detective stories/films/TV and work out the plot. I have been known to watch some films several times to understand the story properly. I thought I would like to storyboard a murder mystery spread over 40 years and weave an interesting plot with some paranormal aspects. The result was "Return of the Prodigal Son"
Hermione Chase My interest is paranormal and sci-fi. I'm currently writing a story that presupposes that Jack the Ripper wasn't in fact human, but a cadaver possessed by a creature from a different plain of existence. It's my latest book involving the part human, part vampire Robert Maldron.
Hermione Chase Do it for the right reasons, e.g because you enjoy it. As with all things in life there is no point in chasing something your heart isn't in......even if you make a good living from it......though it helps!
Hermione Chase Letting your imagination run rampant. Fantasy and sci-fi also gives you the added bonus of pushing out conventional boundaries while keeping a moral tale.
Hermione Chase I tend to develop a story from its start to its conclusion, a bit like a film storyboard and I stick to what interests me.
