D. Thrush I'm actually thinking of fictionalizing this. I have odd memories from my childhood. Mysterious people and happenings. My mother has Alzheimer's so I'll never find out the truth.
D. Thrush I have to choose my own characters, Molly & Max, in "Whims & Vices" and especially "Fate & Flirtations" because of the struggles they went through. F&F really delved into my heart and soul as I was writing it. I didn't want to leave them at the end.
D. Thrush Never actually been to Catalina but have been up and down the coast. I used to hang out in Laguna Beach and lived in the San Diego area. I'm now up in WA state. I like to be on a coast. I grew up on the East coast. I love the ocean but also love the mountains.
D. Thrush I'm currently re-editing my first book "Guardian of the Light." It will be finished within a week or so. Then I'll begin work on the sequel to "Whims & Vices." After that, I'm very tempted to write a third Santina Claus book making it a trilogy!
D. Thrush I agree! I think Kristen Stewart would be a great Tina Claus. I can see her as a smart college student who underestimates herself. I can also imagine Juno Temple who can be quirky. I'd love to see an actress bring this character alive!
D. Thrush I'm a member of EBook Miner on GR. If I see someone offering to do reviews, I'll contact them if they like my genre. You can also post a request for reviews. There's a group on GR called Taming Amazon. You read and review a book on the list and then your book will be added for someone to review. I got a 4 star review there. You can go to http://www.theindieview.com/indie-rev... where you'll find a list of bloggers who will do reviews. Kelly Smith has reviewed all my books. http://www.kellysmithreviews.blogspot... She's given all my books good detailed reviews on GR, Amazon and her blog. She's great to work with. One of my books was slammed by a few reviewers on GR. I like honest reviews but sometimes reviewers can be unfair and harsh. That's the risk you take. Good luck! ~
D. Thrush My last book "Fairy Tale Karma" came about because of the happily-ever-after movies and stories I loved as a child. Now as an adult, I thought it'd be fun to explore the reality behind the fairy tale ending.
D. Thrush I usually start with a simple idea or even a sentence that intrigues me. I think about it a lot and pretty soon the characters start to come to life. Lots of things inspire me. Music, a good movie or a good book will trigger an idea or feeling.
D. Thrush I'm working on a story I started 2 years ago. I wasn't sure how to continue it but now it's flowing.
D. Thrush If you have a passion for words, then just write. It doesn't matter if it never forms into a story or if nobody ever reads it. This is how you develop your own style. Eventually an entire story may flow out.
D. Thrush It's a wonderful creative outlet which I think everyone needs in some form. It's also very satisfying when the words seem to flow better than I'd imagined.
D. Thrush Sometimes I take a little time and let the story take form in my head for a while. Then I make myself sit down and reread a few of the last pages I've written. That usually gets me back in the flow.
