Coyla Coblentz I'm working on the sequel to Hannah Nakova, entitled Simon Boudreaux. The book is in beta reader mode right now, which means I hand it out to my trusted, sharp-eyed readers and wait impatiently for them to tell me how great the book is, that it's a masterpiece, a sure best seller, the catalyst for a life of renown and fortune, only to hear that the book is such a mess grammatically that it's hardly readable, and the plot isn't really working for them. And, well, I have a lot more work to do.
Coyla Coblentz In my experiences, writer's block isn't about not knowing what to write. It's the fear that you won't be able to write what needs to be written. Every writer feels inadequate at times, probably more often than not. To find the courage to write what you feel may end up being sloppy, ham-fisted buffoonery, write in secret at first, for yourself only. You may discover that your writing isn't quite the claptrap you feared it would be. It may also be more true to *you* than the flowery prose of a show off who writes the first draft with an audience in mind.
