(view spoiler)[In GENESIS, how did the crew member of the one ship overrun by the Vemus even learn the term "Vemus" in the first place, or was that a Vemus that was heard over the coms saying "Vemus?" And if that was a Vemus being overheard, why would the Vemus have been saying that in the first place, and why did no other Vemus ever get overheard saying that, or anything else for that matter, during the rest of the book? The term “Vemus” first appears in Book 2 - Nemesis. The first time they hear “Vemus” is from a recorded comms transmission from the Wyatt. The ship was being stormed by the enemy and the transmission was more of a flight recording from bridge. The Vemus operate like a hive mind, which the soldiers are an extension of that. The term Vemus is something they utter in the presence of humans, but is the only discernible word amid the other noises they make. Vemus soldiers aren’t great conversationalists. As to why we don't hear about it in other parts of the book. There was no great reasoning behind it. Every time the colonists encountered the Vemus they were fighting for their lives and speaking. The Vemus soldiers don't scream or howl "Vemus" in battle. I don't know how far in the series you are, but Connor does learn more and interact more with the Vemus in Book 3.
Kind regards,

Hi Lorry,
Thank you for reading my books. Farther back in time than I care to admit, I imagined what it would be like to go off to another world. Daydreamed about it quite a lot. Probably when I should have been focusing on something else. However, I've never thought of writing a book with me as the protagonist visiting the worlds where my other series reside. I guess you could say I've already been there. ;)
Thanks for the question.

Hi Maria,
The 6th book was released in November. I'm currently working on the 7th book, which will be released in two months. As for the length of the series, I have 9 books planned for this series arc, after that I'm not sure.
Thank you for giving the First Colony series a chance.
Kind regards,
Ken Lozito

Hi Vinod,
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the Safanarion Order. I did write down a few ideas for a prequel as well as ideas for continuing the series. So writing a prequel is definitely a thought I’ve considered, but at this point I’m not sure when I will fit it in. I’m about to begin writing the 3rd book in a new series that will be out by July. After that I return to Safanar, which I’m really looking forward to.
Thanks again for reading the series and for reaching out to me.

It's fun to create and explore a new world. Writing is both hard and rewarding. If it wasn't fun I probably wouldn't getup every morning to play in my own little world.

My inspiration often comes away from the writing desks. Hiking with my family gets the wheels turning, but also listening to music while doing other things.

Finish. For me the 1st draft is all pride. I put everything that I want into the 1st draft. The subsequent drafts are all about the reader and I keep them in mind while I whittle away at the perfection of the pristine 1st draft.
Find an editor that you can work with. Use beta readers and treat them well. There are hardly any overnight successes and for most their "overnight" success are years in the making.

New trilogy set in the same world as the Safanarion Order.

I give myself permission to write it badly first. At some point things just start progressing from there. I adhere to my scheduled writing time no matter what and always put some words down.
