Anoved Sivad There is no such thing as writer's block. In my opinion, you may want to write about something and it is not coming to you. That doesn't mean you have writer's block, it means that you should try writing about something else until the needed words come to you. Forcing yourself as a writer to scribe about ONE subject matter is literary suicide. You have to allow your thoughts to flow to whatever it is that needs to be expressed.
Anoved Sivad The best thing about being a writer is that I get to say and do what most only think about in their heads out loud with my pen. I am able to be free with my words and expression and I know there will be someone that will read it and say "I can dig it" because they relate to it but were too afraid to admit it due to judgment.
Anoved Sivad My advice would be get out of your own way. Stop thinking about how you want to book to be and just write. Your job is to write, there are other people who edit and clean it up; but first YOU must write.
Anoved Sivad I am currently working on two additional chapbooks. One is entitled Wingless, which is a book of just free falling through life, love, and lazy days. The other book is entitled I Saw An Angel Fall. It is a very personal book about my life as a wife of an addict and abuser, and dealing with the struggle of loving or leaving him. The poem written during that time period were very raw and transparent. I am happy to say that the situation ended well for all involved.
Anoved Sivad My inspiration comes to me like breathing. I inhale my surroundings and I exhale a poem. I am often times inspired by my own life's experiences that are triggered by my current surrounding as I drive through places once visited.
Anoved Sivad Most of my books are a compilation of poetry that I wrote on a day's whim. My friends encouraged me to put them all together for their own entertainment, so I obliged.
