I got dumped, got drunk, did a bunch of recreational pharmaceuticals, and when I sobered up I was half way through a novel.
That’s not my normal process but it worked.

I whine endlessly to my management and try to make them tell me what to write next. It is only deciding on a project that is difficult for me. Once I’ve started I never get writer’s block.

If you want you can work in your underwear. I wouldn’t necessarily suggest it, but you can do it. Most of my writing is done at the public library or the college though, and me wandering around in my boxers is not always appreciated, but you can do it.

Unless you love writing, don’t do it. My first royalty check was for $1.82, if you think writing is a path to fame and fortune stop writing, seriously, check into drug running, prostitution, or running illegal dog fights, any are likely more profitable, and less frustrating.

Currently I’m working on trying to make the answers from some pretty standard questions from Goodreads at least moderately entertaining. I don’t think I’m doing a very good job.
I’m also writing fortune cookies, which is a challenge because I’m not known for my brevity. I am, however, most proud of this one, “I peed in your soup. Lucky numbers 4,17,27,35,36,41”
Most of that’s not true either, I just finished my novel “Man Whore” and am taking a break before either writing another novel with characters from the Icarus series, or maybe the sequel to “Man Whore”

I have this all-consuming desire for vengeance. I want revenge on my childhood enemies, that girl who turned me down for prom and anyone who says, “Working hard, or hardly working.”
I envision torment and torture for my victims and that drives me to write. I think if I ever became a wildly successful writer I could reign down some real Old Testament plagues upon the houses of my adversaries.
That’s what gets me inspired to write.
