For June releases, I'm excited to read Rubicon by G. S. Jennsen and The Witchwood Crown by Tad Williams.

There are several crimes committed against people I've known that would make interesting mystery plots. But - this is why I write fantasy. : )

Grant,
I love pro-vegan fiction too. As for my thoughts on animal rights, they are complex and evolving. I am a vegan and believe strongly in human compassion toward other animal species. You can see more about how it impacts my writing here:

P.S. Sorry for the delayed response - didn't see this!

Hi, Terry! Looks like you put in a review, but it would be great if you want to add a star rating also. Just search for "The Fettered Flame" and then edit your review. Let me know if you have issues with it. Thanks for all your support!

(view spoiler)["The Banished Craft" looks fascinating and I'm eager to read it. But are all the female dragons evil? (I really hope they're not.) (hide spoiler)]
E.D.E. Bell
Hi, Kelley! No, the female dragons are not evil, though the story starts off with a couple who are not so virtuous. The dragon society does have gender equality (unlike the human society) though, so a villain is just as likely to be a female. There are several heroes in the dragon world, many of them female. In fact, Jwala will be on the cover of Book 2: The Fettered Flame, which introduces several additional dragon heroes that I think you will enjoy.
Hope you enjoy The Banished Craft and thanks for the great question.

I've always wanted to write about dragons. That's where it started. Beyond that, the story just kept accumulating ideas, or emotional concepts I wanted to work in.

I was on an airplane reading a book and wondered how fun it would be to write my own, with my own tastes. I bought a notebook when I landed, and on the next flight start jotting down ideas. It went from there.

I am working on the Shkode trilogy, Book 1: The Banished Craft.

Hearing that someone enjoyed your story. There is nothing better than making someone happy.

I go back to the characters, and think about what would really make them react the way I want them to.
