Meg Collett Hey Kelsey! There will be a fourth (and fifth) book! I have to get to a few other projects first, but it should be ready spring/summer of next year.
Meg Collett Hi, Akemi! That is very possible! Especially as the series starts delving into the nature of the war between the aswangs and humans. Thank you for the question!
Meg Collett Hey! Sorry it took me so long to answer this! I never get notifications for Goodreads! But the covers for End of Days were done by a photographer, Adrienne McNellis Photography. She's amazing! You should check out her work :)
Meg Collett Hey, Taylor! I'm so sorry I missed this question! Goodreads didn't notify me. I actually haven't watched Supernatural! The Hunted One didn't really start out as an angel story. It slowly evolved to being about angels. Mainly, I just wanted to tell a story about redemption, and what better way to do that than with angels! I'm glad you're enjoying THO, and I will have to check out Supernatural! Thanks!
Meg Collett Amber, I'm so sorry I missed this question! My bad. Congrats on winning! I'm actually getting those packages ready to go as I type this! Technically Days of New was written to be a stand alone, and it can be. But I think it will be a better experience if you read End of Days first! :)
Meg Collett One of the projects I'm working on now was inspired by the documentary "Blackfish." It was so powerful and moving for me. I started wondering, "what if humans were the entertainment?" And it just evolved from there!
Meg Collett Just write. Finish your first book and then start on the second. If you have one book published already, don't get hung up on marketing it. Put it out there and spend your time writing the next one. Publishing a new book is the best thing you can do for yourself and your career.
Meg Collett I have a few projects going on. But right now, I'm gearing up for a serial spin-off series from my End of Days books. Clark is back!
Meg Collett Music inspires me the most. A certain song or lyric will spur on my imagination, and I'll go from there. 30 Seconds to Mars's "This is War" played on repeat while I wrote "The Hunted One." When I finished the series with "The Only One", I played the album again as I wrote the final scenes. It made me cry! But I wanted to capture that essence I had in the first book. Music helps me do that.
Meg Collett Sleeping in. I've always HATED waking up early.
Meg Collett I always outline every book before I start. I know what's going to happen in every scene. Of course, that may change as I write, but I always have a plan going into a writing session. Before I start writing, I'll hand-write a few ideas or dialogue pieces I have. Basically, I just sketch out the scene before hand. With those tools, I rarely have issues with writer's block.
Meg Collett Thanks for the question, Vivian! I really appreciate that! Sorry this took me so long to reply! So I put a lot of effort into my descriptions and scene-setting. I think sometimes what you don't say is just as important as what you do. My writing style was heavily influenced by Andrew Davidson (he wrote this book called "The Gargoyle"). His writing was lyrical and very poignant. But he made you feel the scene rather than just read it. I always aim to achieve that! Sometimes it doesn't work but every now and then, it will. And it's great :)
