I know that's kind of a cliche answer, but it's true. A few beers or a bottle of mead can change my whole outlook on the world, remove any inhibitions I have, and with the right music, can help me create magic.
So much of my experience with writer's block has been because I'm insecure, I believe that nobody is going to care or that what I have to say is stupid and basic. Getting past that block using any means necessary is the absolute key to progress.

I love looking at the world through the eyes of people different than I am, with different backgrounds. It's a huge challenge, but one that enriches my own perspective on things.

People at work were talking about video games. I chipped in with a joke about how dating sites for gamers should have the relationship status of Waiting For Player Two. That sparked a whole series of images in my mind, of two adults just sitting in their underwear on the floor, playing Double Dragon together.
