Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Kit Steitz I loved reading fantasy novels as a kid and I love writing them as an adult. I wanted to read an epic adventure that featured people like me and my friends. I want to craft stories that other queer and gender expansive folks can enjoy, so we're not stuck in the subtext forever.

What are you currently working on?
Kit Steitz I'm currently working on a trilogy set in a fantasy world. It revolves around a forest witch and an exiled princess as they seek to save an island and each other. Hopefully they'll have a publish date of 2019 or 2020.

How do you get inspired to write?
Kit Steitz When you establish a semi/regular writing practice, inspiration comes while writing. If you want it, work at it. The magic is in the journey.
