The germ on my novel was a forgotten Sicilian village with a special event that occurs there. From there, I begin researching the village and decided on creating my own village for the story, but using a few ideas from real Sicilian villages as the basis.

Bellafortuna. A novel that is set in Sicily. It was just selected as a Short List Finalist in the William Faulkner Competition. I am presently putting the novel in final shape.
