I keep an ongoing outline for each of my books. As soon as I think of another little piece of the story's puzzle, I add it to the outline. That way I just keep writing through the outline, and there's no point when I bump up against writer's block. The times when I'm feeling verbose and have lots of ideas get added to the outline to fill in for other times when I don't have as many ideas.
