Do you use an agent to market your books? How did you find a publisher? I'm writing a Bible study about God's Design in Mental Illness...sharing my story and encouraging others through scripture and prayer.
Alexis A. Goring Hi, Jennifer! I do not have a literary agent yet. A writer friend of mine who works for my publisher recommended my publisher. So, I filled out the story submission form on my publisher's website and a few days later, she sent me a contract to publish my book "A Second Chance." Congratulations on writing a Bible study! That's amazing! And your topic of choice is very relevant.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Alexis A. Goring Keep pushing for your creative writing dreams to come true! :) Take time to train your talent through enrolling in writing classes at community colleges and local universities. Sign-up for writers workshops. Attend writers' conferences. Find a good critique partner who can look over your writing and provide insightful feedback to improve your story. Make time to write every day. Pray about it to God too because if He gave you a dream to be a writer then trust He will bring it to fruition but you have to work! Read Jeremiah 29:11. Scripture always helps me.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Alexis A. Goring The book I'm working on now involves my love for good food, photography, writing and romance. The idea for it evolved out of my love for those four key elements! :)
