today I've published the novel I've been working on since before my baby was born, and he's now one! I'm going to have a couple of weeks off and then I have two very exciting projects. One is a story based on the diary of a woman who was evacuated during the war, the second is a book based on a woman who worked on the Enigma code during WW2. EXCITED!

I leave it for a day or so and go onto another part of the book - whether it's research or editing. If that doesn't help, I leave that bit as a summary and move on, going back to it once I know where I'm headed.

just write! It's so easy to do these days, and have your work published. One word of advice though - take the help people offer, and don't be too proud to make changes to your book's format or plot, even if you don't necessarily want to. It might end up better that way as I found with my first book.

I've always enjoyed writing, from the time I was in primary school. Once I had one too many basketball injuries I found I had spare time and writing was the perfect outlet for that (although not as good for keeping fit).

I moved to Guernsey in 2002 (from Australia) and was inspired by the amount of information and evidence remaining after the Germans left. I also know a couple of people who were here during that time and that inspired me to find out more. After all, it was the only part of Britain occupied and was in a unique position.
