Jeremy Flagg Yes! Eleanor will have three new books coming out starting in 2023. It's going to be a wild adventure as we see what she's capable of now that she has some control over her abilities. It'll introduce a new cast of characters and revisit Susan Lee and Frank as well. Very stoked to see how this story unfolds.
Jeremy Flagg The sequel has been written and submitted to the publisher. I'm waiting to see what happens, but I'm hoping either the end of the year or the start of next year. Third book has just begun!
Jeremy Flagg There are times when I can't see past my nose when writing. Most often, my solution is to put on music and stress my characters. I find they do their own work when they are challenged. When my characters refuse to cooperate, I typical attempt to kill them. If they're smart, they'll dodge me, if not, I can always create a new character to fall in love with. The challenge is when they outsmart me and I want them dead!
Jeremy Flagg I recently told one of my students, "Write and don't look back." Having been part of National Novel Writing Month for almost a decade, I find it is easiest to write when my inner critic is silenced. Every person has an idea for the next great novel, the difference between writers and everybody else is they have the time and dedication to get it out of their head and onto paper. My advice, write. Don't think, just write.
Jeremy Flagg My latest novel is based on superheroes. With the media saturation I thought it was a good time to tackle an idea a friend and I had as kids. Our heroes were predictable and followed a general concept put forth by the big companies. As an adult, I've taken the idea and worked it from a new angle that gives a bit of a fresh take on a classic idea. Having wanted to be a comic book artist as a kid has influenced my writing so heavily that it was finally time to revisit where it all started.
Jeremy Flagg I find most of my inspiration comes from my everyday life. In each of my novels, one of the characters has an artistic influence to them. This comes from my background in the fine arts. Being a teacher gives me plenty of fodder to use in my young adult novels. When I'm tapped for ideas, I tend to go back to my writing journals from when I was younger and try decipher what was going through my head.
